TS Setup Walkthrough:
Example 1 This is how Teamspeak will look when you first start it.
Example 2 First thing you need to do is click on Connection at the top & then select Connect as shown in example 2.
Example 3 Once you've clicked connect the Connect To Server winow will open. You want to make sure the Local Addressbook tab is selected then right click on Servers and then Left Click Add Server as shown in the below example.
Example 4 Now we must fill in all the info that Teamspeak will need to connect to our server. Label: This area can have whatever you want. Server Address: This is our server Ip: 206.255.76.52:8767 Nickname: This is what you want your name to show up as on the server. Login Name: You will get this from Alex aka: Lormy, Dowski, & Zero_kewl User Password: This is the same as the above. Get it from Alex You will want Registered and Auto Reconnect Selected as well, Then just Left click the Connect Button at the bottom as in the example below.
Now you should be on the server, but may be wondering how to talk and maybe how you sound? Well the following will show you how to change how you sound and show you how to hear how you sound as well.
Example 5 The first thing you should do after you've connected to the server for the first time is to click on settings at the top of the teamspeak window and then select Sound Input/Output Settings.
Example 6 The first thing you want to do is put the dot in the Push to talk option. Then hit the Set key and press the button you want to Push to talk. This option is generally best for everyone because hearing people breath into thier mic's gets annoying when they use the voice activated option. I have a 5 button mouse and use one of my extra buttons, but most folks use thier CTRL key for this option. Now if you want to hear how you sound goto the Local Test area and change the Test Codec to Speex 12.3 Kbit. This is the Codec we use for all channels. Then click on Activate local test mode and then push your push to talk button and start talking to hear yourself and see how you sound. If you think your too quite or can't hear yourself at all Then you need to adjust your mic's volume on your PC. I suggest turning on your mic boost as well.
If you need any more help setting up Teamspeak either get on and ask for help from the folks online, or Email Alex @ alex_the_gook@yahoo.com
